Agartala: Oct 08: BJP-ruled Tripura has today turned into a theatre of terror, where lawlessness has become a daily affair and political violence has turned into a tool of governance. The recent events in Agartala once again expose the moral and political decay of the ruling party. What unfolded yesterday was not an isolated act of vandalism—it was a deliberate attempt to crush opposition voices and instill fear among citizens.
BJP workers, acting in an organized and premeditated manner, attacked and vandalized the Trinamool Congress office in Agartala, looting and destroying property. Shockingly, the state police stood by as silent spectators, allowing the violence to unfold unchecked. Their inaction reflects a deeper rot within the system—where administrative machinery serves the political interests of those in power instead of upholding justice and democracy. This attack was not merely against a political party; it was an assault on the very essence of democratic dissent.
In response, an All-India Trinamool Congress delegation comprising Smt. Pratima Mondal, Smt. Sayani Ghosh, Smt. Sushmita Dev, Smt. Birbaha Hansda, Shri Kunal Ghosh, and Shri Sudip Raha reached Agartala today. The delegation will meet affected party workers, assess the overall situation on the ground, and officially raise the matter with the state administration. The party has also demanded an impartial probe into the incident and immediate action against those responsible.
The Trinamool Congress was born out of the struggle against authoritarianism and has always stood firm whenever democracy has come under threat. No amount of state-sponsored violence or intimidation can extinguish that spirit. The BJP government may try to silence dissent through fear, but it cannot crush the determination of those who fight for the people’s rights and democratic freedom.
Today, as Tripura stands at a crossroads, the TMC reiterates its commitment to uphold justice, restore peace, and protect democracy. The fire of our resolve will continue to burn bright—undaunted and unyielding—until the voice of the people triumphs over tyranny.
