Agartala: Jan 22: Tripura will once again be part of the tableau display at the Republic Day celebrations in New Delhi. A total of 26 tableaux will be showcased at this year’s Republic Day parade in New Delhi, highlighting the cultural heritage of the respective states and central ministries.
The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Goa, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Jharkhand, Ministry of Women and Child Development, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Ministry of Rural Development, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Department of Financial Services, Madhya Pradesh, Ministry of Earth Sciences (IMD), Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Tripura, Karnataka, Dadra Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, Delhi, West Bengal, Chandigarh, Ministry of Culture, and CPWD will be participating in the tableau display. Tripura’s tableau will be at the 19th position.
The main theme of Tripura’s tableau this Republic Day is to highlight the diverse culture of India. With this focus, Tripura’s tableau will showcase the Kharchi Puja, a worship of fourteen deities that has been practiced since royal times, along with its rituals and significance. The tableau will emphasize three key aspects, Blend of tradition and modernity: The tableau will feature bamboo-based handicrafts, the use of modern technology, models in traditional attire, and a bamboo frame, symbolizing progress. Depiction of fourteen deities through bamboo and cane crafts: The fourteen deities will be represented using bamboo and cane crafts. Worship of Ha Buma (Earth Mother) and related cultural aspects: The tableau will include the worship of Ha Buma and associated cultural elements. Additionally, traditional bamboo and floral crafts and modern art will be showcased. The tableau will depict a priest performing the puja in traditional attire. Tripura’s tableau will highlight the state’s ancient spiritual beliefs.
