During the session, MLA Sudip Roy Barman strongly criticized the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He remarked that the BJP could only survive as long as business tycoons like Adani and Ambani thrive, accusing them of manipulating the electoral process. He claimed that certain families, after securing votes, were falsely claiming that they had won through the people’s mandate. Barman pointed out that crucial laws regarding education, health, food, and the Right to Information were implemented during the tenure of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, not under the current government.

He also made serious allegations against the Modi government, accusing it of doing nothing about the 4,000 square kilometers of land occupied by China, with no action taken to reclaim it. Furthermore, he criticized the government for its silence on significant issues, such as the controversial incident involving Indian citizens allegedly being chained by American forces. Barman also denounced the BJP’s ideology, stating that it could weaken the country and lead to internal conflicts. He expressed concerns about the destruction of religious institutions and the rise of communal violence under BJP’s leadership.

Barman concluded by saying that the BJP does not respect the Constitution or India’s founding leaders like Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Mahatma Gandhi, and Jawaharlal Nehru, but rather honors Nathuram Godse. His statements underscored his belief that these issues were deeply tied to the welfare of the Indian people.
