The North Tripura district administration has launched ‘Yoddha’, an innovative citizen engagement platform aimed at encouraging public participation in addressing key social issues. The initiative was virtually inaugurated by Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Wednesday, who praised the district administration for introducing a technology-driven mechanism to strengthen community participation and social welfare.

The Yoddha platform enables citizens to report sensitive social issues such as child marriage, drug abuse, domestic violence, child labour and other social evils while maintaining complete anonymity. The initiative is designed to encourage people to come forward without fear of disclosure or retaliation, thereby facilitating timely intervention by the authorities.

A key feature of the platform is its focus on rehabilitation and support. Individuals struggling with drug addiction can confidentially seek assistance through the portal and will be connected with counselling and treatment services without revealing their identity. Officials believe this anonymous support system will encourage more victims to seek help.

Beyond grievance reporting, the platform also promotes volunteerism and community service. Citizens interested in contributing to social causes, such as blood donation, can register on the portal. Information about upcoming blood donation camps and other social service activities will be made available through the website, enabling greater public participation.

To ensure user confidence, the state’s Information Technology Department has completed a comprehensive security audit of the portal, while the National Informatics Centre (NIC) is hosting the website, ensuring robust data security and privacy protection.

Following the launch, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha also conducted the ‘Mukhyamantri Samipeshu’ public grievance programme virtually, covering North Tripura district. The session was held from the Conference Hall of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate’s Office in Kanchanpur, where 28 citizens participated and presented various public grievances and developmental concerns.

The Chief Minister listened to issues raised by residents from different parts of the Kanchanpur Sub-Division and directed the concerned departments to take prompt action for their resolution.

The programme was attended by North Tripura District Magistrate and Collector Chandni Chandran, SDM Kanchanpur Ashish Biswas, and senior officials, including the SDPO, SDMO, and BDOs of Laljuri, Dasda and Jampui, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to responsive governance and citizen-centric development.
