Agartala: May 20: Tripura Gramin Bank (TGB) has taken a significant step toward sustainable and customer-friendly banking with the inauguration of a state-of-the-art Solar-Powered E-Lobby at its Abhoynagar Branch on Friday. The initiative underscores the bank’s commitment to green energy adoption and round-the-clock banking access.
The E-Lobby was inaugurated in a special ceremony attended by Anil S. Kotmire, General Manager, NABARD; Diganta Kumar Das, Deputy General Manager, NABARD; and Satyendra Singh, Chairman of Tripura Gramin Bank. Other dignitaries present included Anup Kumar Saha, General Manager, TGB; Venkatesh K., GM, TGN; Rajesh Kumar, Chief Manager (IT); and Shankha Shubhra Dey, Senior Branch Manager of the Abhoynagar Branch.
According to a press statement by the bank, the solar-powered lobby will offer 24×7 banking services such as ATM access and passbook printing, while also promoting environmental sustainability. “This green initiative not only supports continuous banking but also promotes clean energy in rural banking,” the statement noted.
TGB currently operates 39 ATM counters across Tripura. The bank stated that these counters are now being redesigned with a corporate look and upgraded IT infrastructure, rivaling that of private sector banks.
Speaking at the event, Chairman Satyendra Singh said, “The new E-Lobby is a step forward in making banking more accessible, modern, and eco-friendly. Customers will now benefit from seamless services any time of day.” He also highlighted how the bank’s vision and services have transformed in recent years under his leadership.
The inauguration was met with enthusiasm from staff and customers alike, with the bank reaffirming its motto: “Empowering Banking, Empowering the Planet.”
