Agartala January 23: Child marriage is the bane of society and Jotsna Akhtar, a school student of Rishyamukh Vidhan Sabha in the southern district of the state, set an example to get rid of this curse.

Just as she has set an example by stopping her own marriage at the age of 15, she has also set a unique precedent for the society by playing a role in preventing the child marriage of many girls in South Tripura. Her name has been nominated for the “Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Award – 2024” for this outstanding bravery, achievement and social consciousness-raising role. President Draupadi Murmu presented the award to the girl at Vigyan Bhaban in Delhi on Monday evening. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha congratulated Jotsna for this commendable and exemplary achievement.
