Agartala, June 1, 2025 – In response to heavy rainfall and widespread flooding, the Tripura government has set up several temporary relief camps across Agartala. On Sunday, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha visited these camps, accompanied by Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Deepak Majumdar, Revenue Department Secretary Bijesh Pandey, the District Magistrate of West Tripura, and other senior officials.

During his visit, displaced residents raised concerns about delays in receiving essential supplies. They reported being stranded in the camps for nearly two days without food distribution, despite initial assurances. Many highlighted the struggles faced by children and elderly individuals due to the situation.

Addressing these concerns, Chief Minister Saha assured affected residents that the matter would be taken seriously. He emphasized that any negligence would be investigated, with necessary actions implemented promptly.

Following the visit, reports indicate that administrative authorities have intensified relief efforts. Relevant departments have been directed to take effective measures to address the crisis.

Meanwhile, continuous rainfall has significantly disrupted daily life in Agartala and surrounding areas. While officials assert that rescue and relief operations are ongoing in waterlogged zones, some residents believe the situation on the ground differs. Many remain hopeful that the Chief Minister’s intervention will lead to improved conditions in the camps.

Authorities are expected to provide further updates as relief operations progress.
