Agartala, June 24: The Tripura Adivasi Congress has submitted a detailed memorandum to the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) administration, raising a series of long-standing grievances and developmental concerns affecting tribal communities within the autonomous district areas.

A delegation of Congress leaders handed over the memorandum to the Deputy CEO of TTAADC, urging immediate government action to resolve critical issues related to land rights, administrative transparency, healthcare, education, and employment.

A primary concern raised was the lack of proper demarcation of forest land allotted under the Forest Rights Act, 2006. The Congress pointed out that while land has been distributed on paper, the absence of physical demarcation has rendered beneficiaries unable to access related government schemes or utilize their land effectively.

The party also highlighted the high volume of pending land allotment applications in panchayats and sub-divisional offices, demanding a swift review and clearance process.

In the memorandum, the Tripura Adivasi Congress called for the immediate withdrawal of a recent administrative order on **khas** land allotment, asserting that it violates the provisions of the Tripura Land Revenue and Land Regulation Act, 1960.

Among broader constitutional and policy demands, the party urged the central government to expedite the passage of the long-pending Constitution (125th Amendment) Bill, which would significantly enhance the powers of Autonomous District Councils—benefiting tribal populations across the country, including in Tripura.

The memorandum also stressed the need to fill vacant posts in TTAADC, ensure timely pension disbursement to retired staff, and uphold transparency in recruitment and construction projects, particularly the contentious Smoke House project.

Additionally, the Congress demanded the establishment of an AIIMS hospital and a Central University in Dhalai district to improve healthcare and educational access in tribal regions.

The Adivasi Congress concluded by appealing for prompt action to uphold the rights and dignity of the tribal communities residing in the TTAADC areas.
