Agartala: June 27: Today, Tipra Matha, a prominent political party in Tripura, submitted a formal request to the state election commissioner. The party’s demand centers around conducting elections not only for the panchayats but also for the two vacant seats in the village committee and the Autonomous District Council (ADC).

During a meeting with the state election commissioner, a Tipra Matha delegation handed over a letter outlining their stance. Vijay Rankhal, the president of Tipra Matha, emphasized that the final voter list has already been published for the upcoming Tristar Panchayat elections. He asserted that simultaneous village polls, along with the panchayat elections, are feasible. The party specifically called for by-elections in the vacant seats of Mandai-Pulinpur and Kulai-Champahao within the ADC.
