Agartala, May 28: A tragic accident in the Srilanka Basti area of Chandrapur on the outskirts of Tripura’s capital city claimed the life of a three-year-old child on Monday, triggering widespread grief and public outrage in the local community.

The heartbreaking incident has sent shockwaves through the area, with residents staging protests demanding strict legal action against the accused. The community, still reeling from the loss, has united in its call for justice and accountability.

In a gesture of solidarity, Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee visited the bereaved family on Wednesday. Offering his heartfelt condolences, the MP assured the family of all possible support and assistance during this difficult time.

Speaking to reporters during his visit, Bhattacharjee acknowledged the swift action taken by local law enforcement and appreciated the prompt arrest of the individual allegedly responsible for the accident. “The police acted quickly, and now it’s crucial that the legal process ensures the accused is held fully accountable,” he said.

He emphasized the importance of justice for the grieving family and called on authorities to take stringent legal measures against the accused. His statements were well received by the local residents, who have continued to demand justice for the child and punishment for those responsible.

The incident has cast a shadow over the community, with many urging the government to strengthen road safety measures and enforcement to prevent such tragedies in the future.
