Agartala: Dec 15: The dental college will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 18. The Prime Minister will inaugurate this college from Swami Vivekananda Maidan. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha announced this in a press conference at Mahakaran after receiving approval from the Union Health Ministry on Thursday. He said that the Dental Council of India visited the Dental College of IGM Hospital on December 12 and 13.Then the Dental Council of India returned from the state and held an EC meeting to discuss infrastructure. Submitted report to Union Ministry of Health as everything is correct. Then after receiving the report from the Ministry of Health, the Health Minister gave permission to Tripura Dental College. This dental college with fifty seats will have a four year course for now. It is planned to make it four and a half years in the coming days. This college will be managed under Tripura University. But out of this 25 seats will be for male students and 25 seats for female students.According to the Dental Council of India, it will be selected as the best college in the entire North Eastern region. This college will start from 2023-24. Classes are likely to start from next September. The Chief Minister congratulated the Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on behalf of the people of the state for giving their approval. Chief Secretary JK Sinha and Health Department Secretary Debashish Basu were present in the organized press conference.
