Santirbazar (Tripura), October 2: The Sunshine Physiotherapy Clinic was inaugurated at the Santirbazar District Hospital premises in South Tripura on Friday, providing residents with access to physiotherapy and rehabilitation services closer to home.
The facility has been established on the initiative of Dr Sairan Saha and was formally inaugurated by Prabhu Karuneshwar Madhav Das, spiritual leader of the ISKCON-run Jagannath Ji Temple at Baikhora.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by elected representatives, government officials, community leaders and local residents.
The programme began with traditional rituals, including ribbon cutting, lighting of incense and chanting of Vedic mantras, led by Prabhu Das.
Buddha Bhanteji, Santirbazar Municipal Council Chairman Sapna Baidya, Vice-Chairman Satyabrata Saha, Deputy Chief Executive Officer Pabitra Das and Councillor Nepal Chandra Das were among those present at the event.
Several other officials and community representatives also attended the programme.
Clinic authorities announced that physiotherapy services would be provided free of cost to patients on the inaugural day. The initiative was aimed at introducing residents to the newly established facility and encouraging them to make use of locally available rehabilitation services.
The clinic is expected to provide physiotherapy support to patients requiring rehabilitation, mobility assistance and pain management. It will also cater to people recovering from injuries and those affected by conditions that impair physical movement and functioning.
Speaking at the inauguration, Prabhu Karuneshwar Madhav Das expressed hope that the new facility would benefit residents of Santirbazar and other parts of South Tripura.
He said the availability of physiotherapy services within the locality would help reduce the need for patients to travel long distances for rehabilitation and mobility-related care.
The facility’s location within the district hospital premises was welcomed by local residents and community members.
Residents said the clinic would make specialised physiotherapy services more convenient to access, particularly for patients requiring continued rehabilitation following injuries or other physical conditions.
They also said the facility could complement the medical services available at the district hospital and help patients and their families access rehabilitation care more easily.
Organisers said the initiative was aimed at addressing the need for accessible physiotherapy services in South Tripura and providing professional rehabilitation support closer to people’s homes.
The inauguration marked the formal commencement of the clinic’s services in Santirbazar.
