Agartala: Feb 18: A subdivision-based sports talent search was held in Mohanpur on Tuesday at the Kamalghat Higher Secondary School ground in Kamalghat, Mohanpur subdivision. The competition, inaugurated by Minister Ratan Lal Nath, featured selected schoolboy players from the Mohanpur Municipal Council and four block areas of the Mohanpur subdivision.

The event was organized jointly by the Youth Welfare and Sports Department, the Tripura School Sports Board, and in cooperation with the Mohanpur Panchayat Samiti. Notable attendees included Mohanpur Municipal Council Chairman Anita Debnath, Bamutia Panchayat Samiti Chairman Deepak Kumar Sinha, Mohanpur Panchayat Samiti Chairman Rakesh Deb, and Youth Welfare and Sports Department Joint Director Paimong Mog.

 

Speaking at the event, Minister Ratan Lal Nath emphasized that those selected in the subdivision-level competition will advance to the district-level competition, and those selected at the district level will participate in the state-level competition. He highlighted that this initiative is new and has not been taken in the past. Minister Nath stressed the importance of children as the future of the country and advised parents to keep track of their children’s progress and involvement, underscoring the societal responsibility in shaping children into responsible individuals.
