Special arrangements are being made by the administration to avoid untoward incidents during Diwali and Kali Puja

Agartala, November 11: Various measures have been taken by the administration to maintain security and law and order in the city during Diwali and Kali Puja. Sufficient number of CRPF is being deployed to prevent any untoward incident. West District Superintendent of Police Kiran Kumar said this at a press conference today.

On this day, he said, this year, 295 Kali Pujas are being held in West District. Out of this, Kali Puja has been organized in 260 places in Sadar area and 88 places in rural areas. Special arrangements have been made by the administration for security. 170 TSR personnel will be engaged in security work. 34 women police and 250 plainclothes police have been deployed.

He claimed that this year, there will be more people gathering in the Kali Puja of AD Nagar Police Line. Separate security arrangements have been made for him. On this day, he also said that special arrangements have been made for fireworks at AD Nagar police ground. Meanwhile, special teams are working to stop the sale and cracking of illegal sound bets.
