Agartala, June 16: In a significant milestone for youth empowerment and skill development in Tripura, 35 young men and women from rural backgrounds have secured employment in the electronics manufacturing sector after successfully completing industry-certified vocational training. The achievement highlights the transformative impact of skill-based education and employment-oriented government initiatives in creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for unemployed youth.
The candidates, many of whom had discontinued formal education due to financial constraints and personal challenges, underwent a three-month residential training programme at the Jogendranagar centre of Vone India Pvt. Ltd. in Agartala. They were trained in the Electronics Hardware Assembly Operator course, which is certified by the Electronics Sector Skills Council of India (ESSCI) and designed to meet current industry requirements.
Following successful completion of the course and assessment process, all 35 trainees have been recruited by Yazaki India Private Limited, a leading automotive component manufacturer based in Bengaluru. The candidates will begin their professional careers with an initial annual package of Rs 1.8 lakh, along with opportunities for career advancement based on performance, skills, and experience.
To support the newly recruited employees during their transition, the company will provide subsidized accommodation and food facilities. These measures are expected to help the candidates settle comfortably in Bengaluru and adapt to their new work environment.
The training and placement initiative was implemented under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) 2.0, a flagship skill development programme aimed at enhancing employability among rural youth. The success of these candidates demonstrates how targeted training, industry partnerships, and placement support can bridge the gap between education and employment.
To ensure a smooth relocation process, staff members from Vone India Pvt. Ltd. will accompany the group to Bengaluru and assist them during their joining formalities. The organization has also committed to monitoring and supporting the candidates for at least one year, focusing on job retention, career progression, and overall well-being.
As the young professionals embark on a new chapter in their lives, they carry with them the aspirations of their families and communities. The Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM) congratulated the candidates and expressed confidence that their success would inspire many more rural youths to pursue skill-based training and employment opportunities.
