School students fell sick during the rehearsal of the Independence Day program

Agartala: August 13: Several students fell ill during a rehearsal for the Independence Day ceremony at the Assam Rifles ground in Agartala. Students from Shishu Bihar School and Tulsibati Girls’ School were affected, likely due to the intense heat. Teachers promptly took the students to IGM Hospital, causing a stir at the hospital premises.

Preparations for the Independence Day celebration on August 15th were underway, with students from both schools participating. The headmaster of Shishu Bihar School mentioned that around 35 students had been preparing for various competitions at the Assam Rifles ground. During today’s practice, several students fell ill. Initially, one student was taken to the Army Hospital, followed by seven students to IGM Hospital. Four were admitted, while three were discharged after primary treatment. Doctors attributed the illnesses to dehydration, and the situation is now under control.

A student who fell ill stated that students from various schools have been rehearsing for the Independence Day events for some time. During today’s practice, several students from Shishu Bihar School and Tulsibati Girls’ School fell ill and were taken to Agartala IGM Hospital by their teachers.
