Agartala, October 31: Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel played a key role in preserving the unity and integrity of India. He was engaged in building India till his death. Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha said this at the Rashtriya Ekata Divas function organized on the occasion of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birthday at Manoranjan Debvarma Memorial Police Ground in Arundhatinagar this afternoon.
On the occasion of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birthday today, the Chief Minister recited the Rashtriya Ekta Divas Pledge to all present.
On this day, the Chief Minister said that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is the symbol of India’s unity and solidarity. Today’s India was formed because of his strong mind and strong action.
According to him, the merger of 565 princely territories with the Indian mainland after independence shows his strong mentality.
The Chief Minister also said that since 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken the initiative of celebrating Sardar Patel’s birthday as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas to inspire the countrymen to make the country stronger and more prosperous. As a result, the youth of the country has been motivated to fight against the evil forces towards India.
Men and women jawans of BSF, CRPF and TSR forces took part in the parade. Besides, Sports Minister Tinku Roy, Agartala Purnigam Mayor Deepak Majumder, Tripura Director General of Police Amitabh Ranjan and various levels of State Defense Force officials were present on the occasion among other guests.
