Agartala: Feb 18: Fourteen Rohingyas, including two Bangladeshis, were detained within 48 hours of the end of voting. They were arrested from Agartala Badharghat railway station. The police had information that some Rohingyas would come to Agartala railway station to go to Kolkata. Accordingly, the staff of Agartala Government Railway Police Station sat in protest along with RPF jawans at Agartala railway station on Saturday. The Rohingyas were detained at Agartala railway station at 8:50 a.m. on Saturday morning by the Kanchenjunga Express and questioned. When I asked for their identity card after finding incoherence in the conversation, it became clear that they are Rohingya. Police managed to nab a total of 16 people. Police said two of them are Bangladeshi and the remaining 14 are Rohingya. The police believe that a gang of brokers is involved. Those who continue to smuggle in India like this.
