CPIM leadership blocked the main road connecting the GB hospital as they protested against the police for not allowing to take the body of one of their party member to the CPIM headquarters and for paying last tribute.The deceased identified as one Dilip Shukla Das a resident of Khowai district was admitted in the GB hospital last night after he was critically injured alleged attack by a ruling party leader.Biswajit Das, son of the victim, and who is accompanying his father’s body in the mortuary vehicle alleged that one Krishna Kamal Das, a BJP member and Pradhan of the (Bagan Bazar) Gram Panchayat had attacked his father who was a CPIM supporter. Biswajit added that he wanted to take his father’s body to the CPIM headquarters at Melarmath but the administration is not allowing. CPIM state secretary Jitendra Chowdhury who along with other senior leader including former Deputy Speaker of Tripura Legislative Assembly Pabitra Kar, former Minister Manik Day, ex MP Sankar Prashad Datta are among those who have blocked the road near Heritage Park in capital city with the body of the deceased as they protest against the police. Speaking to reporters Chowdhury raised that the DGP of Tripura Police Amitabh Ranjan without any investigation had informed the Chief Secretary that the entire incident was due to personal rivalry and not political thought the fact is the victim is a CPIM supporter and died after he was critically wounded by a BJP leader and who is an elected Pradhan of a Gram Panchayat. He said that when the victims son want to take his father’s body to the CPIM party office, but police administration is of the view that since it is not a political murder so the body cannot be paid tribute in the party office and which is crime. Chowdhury added that their only demand is to take the dead body to their party office and pay last tribute before it is send to Khowai but police is not allowingAgain senior CPIM leader and former Deputy Speaker Pabitra Kar said that the act of the police is violating of human rights.Meantime, Khowai police has already arrested Krishna Kamal, the prime accuse as the family members have already verbally informed the police and in the process of lodging FIR.Ratiranjan Debnath, SP Khowai district, during a press meet said that the incident happened due to family disputes between two neighbours and in scuffling last night one Dilip Sutra Das was injured and who was initially admitted in Khowai district hospital and from where referred to GB hospital where he died today. He added that prima facie indicated that the matter is case of a family rivalry and already the prime accused have been arrested and police is investigating for more evidence and if anyone else found is involved legal action will be taken against them but the case is in connection to family disputes.
