Agartala: April 16: A protest organized by the Pradesh Congress took place against the alleged misuse of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government. The party accused the BJP-led administration of targeting Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi with false charges. The demonstration, which involved surrounding the ED office, resulted in clashes between Congress workers and the police, leading to heightened tension in the area.

Ashish Kumar Saha, the Pradesh Congress President, claimed that the BJP government is orchestrating conspiracies against Congress and its leaders to tarnish the party’s reputation. He alleged that the ED is being utilized to file chargesheets against opposition leaders as part of a strategy to divert public attention from pressing national issues.

MLA Sudip Roy Barman echoed similar sentiments, stating that the BJP government is repeatedly engaging in actions against Congress leaders, both within and outside Parliament, to shift focus away from societal challenges. He emphasized that Congress is documenting instances of alleged misuse of power for future reference and action.
