Police seized 5.1 kilograms of dried marijuana

Agartala: Jan 18: Acting on a tip-off, police seized 5.1 kilograms of dried marijuana and arrested a youth from another state. The seized marijuana is estimated to be worth over one lakh rupees. OC Rana Chatterjee informed that the arrested individual will be produced in court seeking police remand.

OC Rana Chatterjee further stated that the police station received information that a person would be smuggling marijuana through Agartala Yogendranagar railway station. Based on this information, the East Agartala police conducted a raid in the vicinity of Yogendranagar railway station. During the raid, a youth was apprehended from the Yogendranagar area. Upon searching, 5.1 kilograms of dried marijuana, valued at approximately one lakh rupees, was recovered from him.

 

He also informed that the arrested individual, Vikram Kumar, is a resident of Bihar. OC Rana Chatterjee stated that the police will produce him in court seeking police remand.
