Phensedyl Seized Worth of Rs 10 Lakh

Agartala: May 17: Assam Police intercepted a Tripura-bound container truck at the Churaibari watch post on the Assam-Tripura border and seized Rs 10 lakh worth of cough syrup Phensedyl. The narcotic substance, hidden among other goods, consisted of 1600 bottles. The truck driver, Jayanta Deb, a resident of Tripura, has been arrested. The recovered cough syrup is valued at around Rs 10 lakh in the black market. Assam Police registered a case under the NDPS Act and initiated an investigation. The accused will appear in the Karimganj CJM court on Saturday.
