Agartala April 25: Himanshu Mohan Chowdhury was honored with the first Padma Shri award of late Northeast India. Tripura’s first Padma Shri Himanshu Mohan Chowdhury passed away on Tuesday. He was 82 years old at the time of his death. Himanshu Mohan Chowdhury set a brilliant example of providing relief, shelter and essential assistance to many refugees during the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War from the best humanitarian point of view while serving as Sonamura Divisional Officer.

The Government of India honored him with the Padma Shri award for his strong and generous actions. A few days ago Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha showed him to his residence in Baradowali. Inquire about the physical condition. He passed away in a private hospital this afternoon. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha has condoled the death of Padma Shri Himanshu Mohan Chowdhury. The deceased’s brother Snehanshu Mohan Chowdhury said that he left all opportunities and worked well in Tripura. He wanted to be cremated on this ground. An era came to an end with the passing away of that brilliant and generous man. After receiving this news, many people rushed to the private hospital.
