The programme is scheduled to commence at 12 noon and is expected to be attended by eminent personalities from the fields of law, science, and academics. Justice Arindam Lodh, Chairperson of the Tripura Human Rights Commission, has consented to grace the occasion as the chief guest. Professor (Dr.) Shaon Ray Chaudhuri of the Department of Microbiology, Tripura University (Central), who is also a member of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), will attend the event as the guest of honour.

The programme will be presided over by Professor (Dr.) Shantipada Gon Choudhury, an eminent scientist and the honorary president of NBIRT. Officials said the event aims to recognise and encourage meritorious students from Tripura by providing them financial assistance to pursue higher education.

This year, eleven students have been selected for the Arka Scholarship–2025 from among 142 applicants across the state. Notably, ten of the selected beneficiaries are girls, reflecting the organisation’s continued emphasis on promoting education among female students.

According to NBIRT officials, the Arka Scholarships have been instituted in memory of several distinguished individuals and organisations who made significant contributions to society. These include Late Nirapada Gon Choudhury, Late Parimal Datta, Late Arun Kumar Biswas, Late Amal Kumar Bhattacharjee, Late Kshetra Mohan Majumdar, Late Sindhu Rani Majumdar, Late Jagadish Chandra Bose, Late Usha Rani Bose, Late Aditi Kanango, and the MOHANA Society. The scholarship funds have been generously donated by family members and well-wishers in their memory.

Officials added that NBIRT, through Arkaneer, has been consistently working towards rural development, education, and social empowerment. The Arka Scholarship programme is part of its broader initiative to support talented students and nurture human resources for the future development of the state.
