Following the complaint, Jatrapur police launched an extensive investigation using modern technological tools, including mobile phone tracking, CCTV footage analysis and monitoring of social media activities. These efforts eventually led investigators to a hotel in Rajarhat, located on the outskirts of Kolkata, where the woman was reportedly staying.

Acting on the information, a police team led by Sub-Inspector Bijoy Chakraborty travelled to West Bengal along with the woman’s husband and mother-in-law. After reaching the hotel, the team successfully located Parmita and her child and brought them back to Tripura on Monday.

The operation has brought considerable relief to the family as well as residents of Nirbhaypur, who had been concerned about the woman’s whereabouts.

Officer-in-Charge of Jatrapur police station, Partha Nath Bhowmik, said the police acted promptly after receiving credible information regarding her location. He confirmed that the woman and her child were safely reunited with their family.

Police officials said the reasons behind the woman’s decision to leave home are still under examination. They have urged family members to deal with the situation sensitively and refrain from any form of physical or mental harassment.

Officials emphasized that understanding the circumstances that led to her departure is important and that the matter will be handled with care and empathy.
