Agartala, June 2: The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has announced a major organisational reshuffle in Tripura by appointing new presidents for several District Congress Committees (DCCs) across the state. The move is aimed at strengthening the party’s grassroots network and preparing the organisation for upcoming political challenges.

The appointments were announced through an official communication issued from the AICC headquarters in New Delhi. The notification, signed by AICC General Secretary (Organisation) K.C. Venugopal, named office-bearers for nine district units in Tripura.

According to the list, Jacob Rokhum has been appointed president of the Ambassa District Congress Committee, while Shampa Datta has been entrusted with the leadership of the Belonia DCC. Gopinath Saha has been named president of the Bishalgarh DCC and Nirupam Dey will head the Dharmanagar DCC.

In Kailashahar, Md. Badrujaman has been appointed District Congress Committee president, while Satyaban Das has been designated as the Working President. Tanmay Roy has been given charge of the Sadar DCC, and Rosan Ali has been appointed president of the Sonamura DCC.

The party has also appointed Pradyot Bhattacharjee as president of the Teliamura DCC and Tapan Paul as president of the Udaipur DCC.

Congress leaders believe that the reorganisation will help energise the party structure at the district level and improve coordination between grassroots workers and the state leadership. The appointments are seen as part of the party’s broader strategy to expand its organisational presence and reconnect with voters across Tripura.

Political observers note that the reshuffle comes at a crucial time as the Congress seeks to strengthen its position in the state and prepare for future electoral contests. The newly appointed district presidents are expected to play a key role in mobilising party workers, strengthening local units and carrying forward the party’s programmes and campaigns at the grassroots level.
