Agartala: Mar 10: Minister Ratanlal Nath recently inaugurated the ‘Madhubaner Madhu’ brand at the Haflongchhara Agriculture Office premises under Dharmanagar Subdivision. The initiative marks the debut of 32 enterprising youth and housewives who collaborated to establish the brand with support from the Agriculture Department.
The event was graced by Yuvrajnagar Block BDO Debapriya Das, former MLA Molina Debnath, officials from the Agriculture Department, and other dignitaries. Attendees applauded the launch and expressed optimism about the prospects for the entrepreneurs’ future plans.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Ratanlal Nath emphasized the government’s commitment to fostering self-reliance. He lauded the efforts of the 32 entrepreneurs who spearheaded the development of the new brand. The Minister highlighted the challenges faced by the agricultural sector in North Tripura, including declining paddy cultivation despite increasing food demand. He reiterated the need to utilize agricultural land effectively and announced the provision of modern equipment for farmers yet to receive tools like power tillers.
During the ceremony, Minister Nath paid tribute to the hardworking farmers of the region and announced plans for a permanent sales center in Dharmanagar city to support the marketing of ‘Madhubaner Madhu’ products. He also underscored the enduring demand for honey and encouraged farmers to diversify their crops to boost the agricultural sector further.
This initiative is seen as a promising step in fostering agro-based industries in North Tripura. It is expected to create employment opportunities and contribute to the region’s economic development.
