The minister’s decision to momentarily set aside his wedding preparations and join farmers in the fields drew widespread appreciation from the local community. Meanwhile, hectic arrangements continued at his ancestral home in Kemtali under the Nalchar Assembly constituency, where relatives and villagers were preparing for the upcoming celebrations.

Despite the busy schedule, Barman remained fully committed to his ministerial duties. While travelling through West Durlabhnarayan village, leaders of the BJP Kisan Morcha approached him with a request. The Morcha had launched a special three-day initiative to harvest paddy for farmers free of cost, and they sought his participation. Barman readily agreed.

Stepping out of his vehicle, he picked up a sickle and headed straight to the field of farmer Abdur Rahman. Accompanied by Kisan Morcha leaders, Panchayat Samiti chairman Swapan Kumar Das, and Nalchar Mandal secretary Bimal Das, he spent a significant amount of time harvesting paddy.

Local residents gathered in large numbers to witness their MLA and Minister working shoulder-to-shoulder with farmers. Many villagers remarked that just days before welcoming his bride, Barman had brought happiness to another family by helping harvest their crop.

Farmer Abdur Rahman and fellow villagers expressed heartfelt gratitude. Speaking to reporters, Barman said the experience took him back to his childhood, recalling how he often harvested paddy in his younger days. Though political duties had distanced him from such work, he said it felt refreshing to reconnect with it, even for a short while.
