Medical students stages protest against the tragic incident at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital

Agartala: August 13: Medical students across the state are protesting the tragic incident involving a female doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. To demand swift justice for the accused, students at GB Hospital and Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC) are observing a work stoppage until 5 PM today.

On August 9th, a female doctor on duty at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital was attacked while asleep and subsequently lost her life. In response, medical students from various institutions have been demonstrating over the past few days. Today, students from GB Hospital and AGMC have joined the protests.

A medical student expressed concerns about the safety of female doctors in hospitals, citing the August 9th incident as evidence. The students’ demands include the resignation of those responsible at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital and immediate action against the accused.
