Addressing devotees and club members at the ceremony, Mayor Majumder described the occasion as a significant milestone for both the organisation and the wider community. He expressed optimism that construction would be completed within a year, enabling the installation of the idol and the resumption of worship of Goddess Kali during next year’s Maha Shivratri celebrations.

Highlighting the changing role of community clubs in Tripura, the Mayor said that under the present administration, such institutions have evolved beyond cultural platforms to become active contributors to social welfare. He encouraged Mahavir Club to continue its social initiatives alongside religious and cultural activities, stressing the importance of community engagement and development.

The foundation-laying ceremony witnessed enthusiastic participation from residents, devotees and club members. Many locals welcomed the reconstruction project, viewing it as both a spiritual renewal and a symbol of unity and collective effort.

The Kali Temple has long held deep cultural and religious significance for the people of Agartala. With the launch of the new building project, residents expressed hope that the upgraded structure would provide improved facilities for worshippers and serve as a vibrant centre for religious and community activities in the years to come.
