Agartala: In an unprecedented incident, one person identified as Sanjeeb Debbarma was brutally attacked by a group of 10 to 12 persons for installing a flex in front of a Puja pandal in Khumulwng, the headquarters of TTAADC areas. Debbarma is stated to be a BJP worker and the flex that he had been trying to install in front of the Puja pandal carried Durga Puja greetings from Khayerpur MLA Ratan Chakraborty. The flex also contained photographs of senior BJP leaders including CM Dr Manik Saha and PM Modi. A couple of messages regarding drug abuse were also scribbled on them. Condemning the incident, MLA Ratan Chakraborty said, “I don’t know what went so wrong with the Durga Puja greetings that he had been thrashed so terribly. So far, I know there were 10 to 12 people who launched an unprovoked attack upon him all of a sudden. His condition is not yet good. He is still undergoing treatment at the GBP hospital”.
