Agartala, September 17: Residents have urged the education authorities to look into alleged problems at Baramura Nareng Jami High School in West Tripura’s Belbari Block, citing concerns over the availability of teachers and basic facilities.

The institution, which falls under the Inspector of Schools, Belbari, has reportedly been facing difficulties that locals say are affecting the day-to-day functioning of the school.

Residents alleged that teachers are sometimes unavailable during official school hours and claimed that students have had to wait before classes begin. They said the situation has raised concerns about the regular conduct of academic activities.

Another issue highlighted by the locals is the availability of drinking water. They alleged that adequate arrangements are not in place, creating difficulties for students and staff during school hours.

The residents have appealed to the education department to verify the allegations and take appropriate action after assessing the situation on the ground. They also requested field-level education officials to visit the school and review teacher attendance, classroom activities and essential infrastructure.

The complaints have drawn attention to the need for regular supervision of educational institutions in the area. Locals said schools serving communities in tribal-dominated regions require adequate facilities and consistent teaching to ensure that students receive uninterrupted academic support.

They expressed concern that continued problems could disrupt students’ studies and affect their academic progress if not addressed in time.

Residents have therefore called for an official assessment of the school and corrective measures based on the findings.

Speaking to the media, a local villager described the difficulties allegedly encountered at the institution and appealed to the concerned authorities to intervene.

The residents have sought improvement of drinking-water facilities and other basic amenities, besides steps to ensure the regular availability of teachers and uninterrupted classes at Baramura Nareng Jami High School.
