The meeting, held at the TIFT Conference Hall in Agartala, focused on accelerating the implementation of key initiatives designed to simplify land-related services, improve revenue administration, and strengthen the state’s ease of doing business.

Among the major reforms discussed were the introduction of automatic land mutation, a move expected to significantly reduce delays in updating land ownership records following registration. The government also reviewed plans to streamline land revenue collection and tea estate management, making these processes more efficient through technology-driven solutions.

Special emphasis was placed on the ground truthing of the NAKSHA project in Agartala, which seeks to verify and update land records using field-level surveys. The meeting also reviewed the progress of modern digital surveys and demarcation of pending land parcels under the BHUNAKSHA project, enabling more accurate mapping and reducing land-related disputes.

The Chief Minister further discussed the rationalisation of circle rates to ensure that land valuation reflects prevailing market conditions while promoting transparency in property transactions. Another significant reform involves the demarcation of forest pattas using advanced surveying equipment, which is expected to provide greater clarity in land ownership and minimise boundary-related conflicts.

During the meeting, Dr. Saha issued necessary directions to senior officials of the Revenue Department and instructed them to ensure that all proposed reforms are effectively implemented at the grassroots level within a fixed timeframe. He stressed the importance of timely execution so that the benefits of these initiatives reach citizens without unnecessary delays.

According to officials, the proposed reforms are aimed at building a more accountable and technology-driven revenue administration by reducing procedural delays, improving service delivery, enhancing transparency, and creating a more investment-friendly environment in the state.

The meeting was attended by Chief Minister’s Secretary Kiran Gitte, Urban Development Secretary Dr. Milind Ramteke, senior Revenue Department officials, and other government representatives, who reviewed the roadmap for implementing the reforms across Tripura.
