Agartala: July 27: The Kalyanpur Scouts and Guides unit’s disaster management team has been praised for their courageous efforts in rescuing a dog from a nearly 40-foot deep abandoned pit in the Shikarai Bari area of Dakshin Ghilatal, under the Kalyanpur police station jurisdiction.

The incident came to light when concerned citizens noticed the dog trapped in the pit and promptly informed the Khowai district administration. The administration quickly alerted the Kalyanpur Scouts and Guides unit’s disaster management team, who arrived at the scene and initiated the rescue operation.

After nearly two hours of continuous effort, the team successfully rescued the dog unharmed, showcasing their exceptional skills and dedication. Local residents have expressed their gratitude for the team’s bravery and commitment to saving the helpless animal.

Scout Master and Master Trainer in Disaster Management, Abhijit Acharya, commented on the incident, stating that the team’s successful rescue was a result of the extensive training they receive to handle various types of disasters. He emphasized that the knowledge and skills gained from this training enabled the team to save the dog from a life-threatening situation.
