Agartala: May 20—Concerns have been raised over the alleged trafficking of a three-year-old girl from the State Foundling Home in Narsinghgarh. A delegation from the Mohanpur Subdivision Committee of the Democratic Women’s Association, accompanied by local legislator Nayan Sarkar, visited the facility today, demanding a thorough investigation and strict action against those involved.
Legislator Nayan Sarkar stated that he had come across reports on social media suggesting that staff members at the government-run home had allegedly transferred the child elsewhere without informing her mother. During his visit, he spoke with officials and urged authorities to conduct a detailed inquiry to uncover the truth.
According to sources, the child’s mother had entrusted the home with her daughter, but certain staff members reportedly relocated the child without formal registration or notifying her mother. Since then, the mother has been searching for her child but has received no assistance.
The All India Democratic Women’s Association Mohanpur Subdivision Committee has also called for firm government intervention in the matter. As public concern grows, demands for accountability and immediate action continue to escalate. Authorities have yet to issue an official response.
