Agartala: June 06: Following the announcement of Lok Sabha election results, tensions within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have erupted into violence in various parts of the Krishnapur assembly constituency. Observers warn that the situation is rapidly deteriorating, with the potential for fatalities in the ongoing conflict.

On Thursday night, incidents unfolded across multiple locations within the 29 Krishnapur assembly constituencies, further exacerbating the situation in the entire area. Notably, an attack occurred against Bapan Das, a BJP party member, in the Golabari area under the Teliamura police station. Bapan was allegedly assaulted, and his motorcycle was vandalized. He was promptly taken to the Teliamura police station.

Bapan Das has accused Nirmal Debnath, President of the Krishnapur Mandal Youth Morcha, and Bijan Kar, Secretary of the BJP’s Khoai District Committee, along with several others, of orchestrating the attack.

Subsequently, a coordinated assault targeted the residence of BJP booth president Manik Ghosh in the Golabari area of Krishnapur assembly constituency between 1:30 and 2:00 am. Manik Ghosh alleges that Saurabh Das, another BJP party member from the area, was involved in the attack. Locals apprehended Sourav and handed him over to the Teliamura police.

Manik Ghosh maintains that the attack was carried out by a faction within his own party, but the motive behind these violent clashes remains unclear.
