Agartala: Feb 01: The 2025 budget aims to deliver benefits to all segments of society in the resolution of a developed India, further strengthening its role in the global economy. Today, former Chief Minister of Tripura and MP Biplab Kumar Deb shared his thoughts on the central budget.
MP Biplab Kumar Deb stated that the proposed 2025-26 budget reflects the aspirations of all sections of society, aiming to improve the lives of middle-income and lower-income citizens. He emphasized that the budget outlines practical measures for the empowerment of the poor, youth, farmers, and women, accelerating the resolution of a developed India.
He noted that the world has seen a new and strong India over the past ten years, and this budget will further strengthen India’s role in the global economy. Key highlights include tax exemption for annual earnings of 12 lakh rupees, an amendment bill in Parliament next week on the simplification of the tax structure, and relief for senior citizens in TDS. These measures will provide relief to the middle and lower middle classes. The budget also includes the simplification of 100% foreign investment in the insurance sector and special initiatives in women’s empowerment to ensure their economic independence and social participation.
Deb highlighted that the budget will open new opportunities in agriculture, production, employment, MSME, rural development, and innovation. The new package to encourage tourism will revamp 50 tourist centers, boosting the economy. Special initiatives to increase exports and the complete withdrawal of duty on 36 cancer drugs will reduce treatment costs for those suffering from this incurable disease. Additionally, there will be a special initiative in nuclear power generation to reach nuclear power to households. The formation of a special board to accelerate makhana cultivation will financially benefit the families involved.
He also mentioned the increase in loan facilities on micro credit cards for the development of small and medium industries, the target of increasing exports on a small scale, and the announcement of three more centers in the eastern region, including a new fertilizer factory in Assam. These steps are significant for the development of the industrial sector. The budget also includes additional financial opportunities in the startup fund, increasing opportunities for young entrepreneurs. The target of 22 lakh new employments in the leather industry will benefit large-scale leather artisans and increase leather product production.
Various steps, including increasing the loan limit on Kisan Credit Cards from three to five lakhs, assistance to 1 crore 70 lakh farmers under the Dhandhanya Yojana in 100 districts, the target of self-reliance in pulse cultivation in six years, the target of self-sufficiency in edible oil, and emphasis on cotton production, will benefit food providers.
India is one of the leading countries in the world in terms of financial growth in the resolution of a poverty-free developed India. The budget includes increasing 10,000 seats in medical colleges in one year and 75,000 seats in the next five years, along with the target of launching cancer research centers in most government hospitals. This will help decentralize services and develop medical services. Students will benefit from increased investment in the infrastructure of IITs, with an emphasis on their expansion. A special economic zone for fishermen, the goal of doubling cotton production, and the goal of increasing exports in small industries will provide employment opportunities for many people. The removal of duty on 35 lithium-ion battery components will reduce the cost of battery-powered vehicles and household use.
