Agartala: Feb 26: The number of HIV positive and AIDS infections in the state is increasing day by day. Although awareness campaigns have been undertaken to deal with the situation, many feel that it is far less than what is needed. The responsible department has been demanded to play a more responsible role for increasing public awareness. Statistics show how much Tripura is AIDS-free despite government-funded awareness programs in the capital’s Agartala city on Sunday.

The State Level Music and Competition was held at Rabindra Centenary Bhavan on Sunday. In this competition, the entrepreneurs said that AIDS has taken a terrible shape in the state. Today this conscious initiative has been taken to get rid of it. They expressed concern that 60 percent AIDS positive are school and college students. They are unconsciously becoming positive due to intoxication. Which is very worrying. So to come out of this situation such awareness programs have been undertaken. But the question is whether it will be possible to control the situation by state level music and competition without declaring war on drugs? Such questions have started to arise in the conscious circles.
