The police have filed a case against the suspect under section 78/24. The arrest was made by Agartala GRP police, with assistance from Amtali police station and 42 BSF jawans. The individual, identified as Rupon Mia, was taken into custody from the Madhyacharipara border area. According to Tapas Das, OC of Agartala GRP police station, Rupon Mia’s name surfaced during the investigation of an old case.

A joint raid by Amtali police station, GRP police station, and BSF led to Rupon Mia’s arrest on Friday. He is accused of aiding Bangladeshi citizens in cross-border infiltration. On Saturday, Agartala GRP police produced Rupon Mia in court, seeking police remand for further interrogation.
