Hearing Held in Defamation Case Involving Maharaja Pradyot Kishore and Saikat Talapatra

Agartala: April 10: The District Sessions Court convened on Thursday to hear the defamation case filed by Maharaja Pradyot Kishore Deb Barman against Saikat Talapatra. During the proceedings, Saikat Talapatra appeared before the court, and Maharaja Pradyot Kishore provided his testimony.

Speaking to the media after the hearing, Maharaja Pradyot Kishore alleged that Saikat Talapatra had made statements on social media that were hostile towards tribal communities. He further claimed that Talapatra had personally targeted him by referring to him as “Chinese” in these posts. According to Maharaja Pradyot Kishore, these actions prompted him to initiate legal proceedings against Talapatra.

 

The case continues to be under judicial consideration.
