Agartala, July 24:  The Government Railway Police (GRP) arrested four Bangladeshi nationals at Agartala Railway Station yesterday for allegedly entering Tripura illegally. Despite stringent surveillance by the Border Security Force (BSF), illegal infiltration from Bangladesh remains a persistent issue.

According to GRP Station Officer-in-Charge Tapas Das, the arrests were made following a tip-off about the arrival of four Bangladeshi nationals at the railway station. Acting on this information, the GRP conducted a raid and detained the suspects. Upon interrogation, the individuals—identified as Shahidul Islam, Azbar Ali, Mahinur Islam, and Akram Haq—confessed to crossing the border illegally.
