Agartala: Feb 18: Police in Tripura have once again achieved success in arresting brokers involved in human trafficking. Agartala Government Railway Police and the state police’s crime branch conducted a joint operation and arrested a notorious broker from Bangalore, named Niloy Ahmed.
According to police sources, Niloy Ahmed had been assisting Bangladeshi citizens in illegally entering Tripura for a long time, charging a significant amount of money for this service. Niloy Ahmed’s residence is in Dhaka’s Jatra Pur district. He was produced in court on Tuesday, where the judge granted a five-day police remand. The police believe that, if interrogated during the remand, the names of several others involved in this ring may be revealed.
In a separate case, a person named Khokon Das (30) was arrested by the Agartala GR police station on charges of human trafficking. Khokon Das resides in the Kaiyadefa Dungirpar area of Madhupur police station.
The police stated that, based on secret information, a joint operation was conducted by the Agartala GR police station, BSF, and Madhupur police station, resulting in the arrest of Khokon Das. The police initially suspect that he has been involved in human trafficking for a long time. They are currently interrogating him to gather more information about the matter.
