Agartala: Dec 16: The Mohan Vijoy Diwas is being celebrated in the state with due dignity. Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu and Finance Minister Pranajit Singh Roy paid tributes to the martyrs at Elbert Ekka Park on the occasion of Great Victory Day.

Incidentally, after the nine-month liberation war, on December 16, 1971, i.e. today, nearly 90 thousand members of the Pakistani army officially surrendered. As a result, Bangladesh emerged as an independent and sovereign state.

On that day, Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu said, Bangladesh got independence from Pakistan on December 16, 1971. India was the main partner in the formation of independent Bangladesh. About 90,000 Pak soldiers surrendered to the Indian Army today. This surrender was the biggest surrender in the entire country.

On this day, he also said that many Indian soldiers had sacrificed themselves for the formation of independent Bangladesh.
