Tripura, May 11: A goods train transporting essential fuel supplies arrived in Tripura today, providing much-needed relief to the state grappling with shortages. The train, carrying a total of 14 lakh liters of petrol and 20 lakh 30 thousand liters of diesel, reached Dharmanagar station at 3 pm.

Of the fuel consignment, 3 lakh 50 thousand liters of petrol and 10 lakh 50 thousand liters of diesel have already been offloaded at the Indian Oil Corporation’s siding yard within the train’s wagons. Unloading operations are underway, with authorities aiming to complete the process by nightfall.

Once the oil is loaded into tanker lorries during the night, these vehicles will be dispatched to various fuel stations across the state. Simultaneously, the remaining wagons will be moved to the siding yard, where they will be emptied by tomorrow morning.

In a parallel development, 24 additional wagons carrying 16 lakh 80 thousand liters of diesel are expected to arrive in Dharmanagar tonight, further bolstering the state’s fuel reserves.
