Temporary camps have been established in 239 schools, currently housing a large number of displaced individuals. Many schools have been inundated, with classrooms filled with silt and mud. District Education Officers have been instructed to clean up the affected schools. Additionally, 209 schools have sustained various degrees of damage. Around 12,000 students’ books and notebooks have been reported damaged, which will be replaced through the SCERT. The reopening of schools is under review, as many are still serving as relief camps and require cleaning to prevent health issues among students.

Officials from the Higher Education Department reported that a 100-meter long wall of Bilonia Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar College has been damaged. Internal roads of Mohanpur Swami Vivekananda College and some books in the Baghafa and Bilonia libraries have also been affected. University exams scheduled for August 21st have been postponed. Two temporary camps have been set up in colleges to address the flood situation. The employees of the Higher Education Department have actively participated in relief efforts.
