Five Bangladeshi Citizens Arrested While Crossing Border into India

Agartala: Sept 01: Five Bangladeshi citizens, including a broker, were arrested while attempting to cross the border into India. The incident took place in the border area under the jurisdiction of Rangichhara BOP in Kamalpur subdivision. On Sunday morning, jawans of the 105th Battalion Border Security Force apprehended the individuals as they were illegally crossing the border.

Among the arrested is a nine-year-old child. The detained individuals are reportedly residents of the Sherpur area in Habiganj district, Bangladesh. The arrested include Rana Sutradhar (57), his wife Selirani Sutradhar (52), his son Dulal Sutradhar (27), and his younger son Sajib Sutradhar (20). Binay Kumar, a Bangladeshi broker, was also arrested with them.

The BSF has handed over all the detainees to Kamalpur police station. It is reported that they were forced to leave Bangladesh due to political threats and unrest. Kamalpur subdivisional police officer Ayush Shrivastav stated that a case has been registered under the relevant sections and an investigation is underway.
