Agartala: Nov 16: For a long time, patients and their families have been voicing concerns about the services at Gomati District Hospital, located in Udaipur, Tepania. In response to these complaints, a delegation led by the state’s Finance Minister Pranajit Singh Roy, Gomati District Council President Debal Deb Roy, MLA Abhishek Deb Roy, Udaipur Municipal Chairperson Sheetal Majumdar, Health Department Secretary Kiran Geet and other officials, visited the hospital on Saturday to assess the situation.
The delegation toured various wards of the hospital and gathered firsthand information on the issues affecting the hospital’s services. After the inspection, Minister Pranajit Singh Roy addressed the media and acknowledged that there have been long-standing complaints regarding the hospital’s services. He assured that the state government would take immediate action to address these issues.
The Minister pointed out that patients from several regions, including the southern districts, Sepahijala, Gandachhara, and Gomati, rely heavily on the hospital for treatment. However, many of them face significant difficulties due to the hospital’s infrastructure and service gaps. He highlighted that some wards were in poor condition, further compounding the challenges for patients and their families.
Minister Roy emphasized that the state government had already begun working on a plan to improve the condition of all district hospitals across Tripura. By enhancing the quality of services at these hospitals, the pressure on the Agartala GB Hospital could be reduced, he noted. The Minister also assured that steps would be taken to ensure that patients and their families receive better services in the near future.
