Kalyanpur, May 14: In a significant initiative aimed at strengthening early childhood education in rural Tripura, Dwarikapur High School in Kalyanpur formally inaugurated its new pre-primary section on Wednesday. The move is expected to provide accessible and quality foundational learning opportunities for children in the locality while reducing dependence on distant private schools.

The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of local MLA Pinaki Das Choudhury, Panchayat Pradhan Bandana Chakraborty, School Management Committee Chairman and Deputy Pradhan Asim Bhattacharjee, primary section headmaster Biplab Sarkar, higher secondary headmaster Sanjit Debbarma, along with teachers, parents and local residents.

Addressing the gathering, MLA Pinaki Das Choudhury emphasized the importance of early childhood education and said that the initiative reflects the changing approach of government schools towards modern learning. He noted that many parents traditionally prefer private institutions for KG-1 and KG-2 education, believing they offer better facilities and academic preparation.

“Children begin building their foundation from the age of three. If they receive the right environment, discipline and encouragement at an early age, they grow more confident and organized in later years. Government schools also need to keep pace with changing times and provide quality education comparable to private institutions,” he said.

Headmaster Biplab Sarkar informed that the response from parents has been highly encouraging. According to him, 14 children have already enrolled in the newly launched pre-primary section, and the number is expected to increase gradually in the coming months as awareness spreads among families in nearby villages.

The launch of the pre-primary section has brought joy and relief to many parents in the area. Several guardians said they previously had to send their children to private schools located far from their homes, which involved additional transportation and educational expenses.

Residents believe the new initiative will make early education more inclusive and affordable while encouraging greater enrolment in government schools. The step is also being viewed as an important effort towards improving the overall quality of education infrastructure in rural Tripura.
