A female tourist from the Netherlands, currently on an extended exploration of India, expressed deep appreciation for the hospitality and warmth she received during her visit to Dumboor Lake in Tripura. Having travelled across several destinations in Tripura and the Northeast, she said that her experience at Dumboor Lake stood out as distinctly memorable.
According to her, Dumboor Lake offered an atmosphere unlike any other tourist location she had visited in the state. She highlighted that the serenity of the lake, along with the courteous behaviour of local service providers, made her stay exceptionally pleasant. “Compared to other tourist destinations of Tripura, Dumboor Lake is totally different. The services provided by the locals are very satisfactory and full of warmth,” she shared.
As part of her journey through Tripura, the visitor explored various culturally and historically significant sites. Her itinerary included the famous Unakoti rock carvings, known for their ancient Shaivite sculptures; the archaeological remains of the Buddhist Stupa at Boxanagar, which reflect Tripura’s long-standing Buddhist heritage; and the revered Tripura Sundari Temple in Udaipur, one of the 51 Shakti Peethas.
While recounting her experience, she emphasised that Dumboor Lake offered her a refreshing pause from the busier tourist spots. “I am extremely thrilled to be here. Away from the meddling crowd, the nights are calm and composed. The sound sleep and the fresh mornings are extremely fascinating,” she said.
She added that the peaceful ambience, clean environment, and gentle interactions with local residents made her stay unforgettable. The blend of natural beauty and cultural richness, she noted, makes Dumboor Lake a hidden gem that deserves wider recognition among global travellers.
Her positive feedback, shared with local tourism guides, is being seen as an encouraging sign for Tripura’s growing tourism sector, particularly in promoting eco-tourism and community-based hospitality.
