Agartala, July 15: Police of Sonamura police station has succeeded in creating drug-free Tripura. Police officer Manik Debnath said that it was possible to recover 15,000 Yaba tablets from the two youths on the basis of information from secret sources. Also, two vehicles used for drug trafficking have been seized. He said that the market value of the confiscated Yaba tablets will be approximately Rs 23 lakhs.
Police officer Manik Debnath said that last night Sonamura police received information from intelligence sources that two youths will come to Kulubari market to sell drugs. Based on that information, a large police and TSR force led by police officer Manik Debnath conducted a raid in the area adjacent to Kulubari Bazar late at night. Police arrested two youths while selling drugs in the operation. He said that 15,000 Yaba tablets were seized from them by searching. Police have also seized two vehicles used for drug smuggling.
He further informed that the arrested persons are Jaseem Mia and Kabil Mia. He said that the market value of the confiscated Yaba tablets will be approximately Tk 23 lakhs. The police have started investigation by taking a case against them under NDPS section.
